Look
into Oracle's Migration Workbench utility. It's a free download from
OTN.
It can
move tables, table data, indexes, constraints, etc. Also converts data types if
needed.
I've
used it to move Acess databases to Oracle and it works pretty well. I

We're one of the many companies running the soon-to-be-desupported Microsoft

Company loyalty meant nothing ... we'll go wherever the biggest paychecks

I'm a dedicated TOAD user, so would steer you in that direction. We used
SQL Navigator years ago, before we moved to TOAD. SQL Navigator is not a
bad product; and I haven't kept up on the new releases. I'm sure it's grown
a lot since I last used it. But overall, I just prefer TOAD's user
I believe I read on the TOAD list that they are working on a major upgrade
to the free version of TOAD that will bring it up to the 7.5 code base. I
think the target date was September...

Other than using the term collaboration, I don't see any mention of those
being part of the Oracle Collaboration Suite. They sound more like add-ons
for the standard Oracle Application eBusiness product line.

Yeah,
I've learned from reading this list that not all DBAs are the super-smart gods

The
freeware version of TOAD isn't on the Quest web site.Try www.toadsoft.cominstead.
And
no, it doesn't have the debugger. You have to buy the TOAD XPert version
for that.
But
free TOADis still an extremely nice Oracle tool for working with the
database, editing PL/SQL

Hi Surendra,
We were desperate to streamline our Forms 6i Client/Server installs. With
hundreds of PC users, we couldn't visit each PC every time we needed to
install a new Form/Report or update the Forms/Reports runtime version.
One thing we've done to eliminate release and install hassles is
Title: windows application to show sql being executed by a client program
Looks
pretty nice. Real similar in concept to TOAD's SQL Monitor, but adds the
option of seeing the values of bind variables, formatting the SQL, watching
processes, etc.
Worth
the download, IMHO.

Both answers a are expected to be No. The lawsuit is
expected to be dropped. But who knows. They won
antitrust case after all.
Nick
I know it *seems* like they won, but Microsoft actually lost the antitrust
case. :-(

We just received a request from our CEO to do research on using Open Office
or Star Office as an alternative to Microsoft Office for our non-power
users.
So maybe there is an ultimate justice that can't be bought out or voted in
(like the anti-trust case).

Microsoft thinks only they can use the word.
I seem to recall the suit was thrown out, but I could be wrong.

Hi Harry,
From the Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG) web page:

ODTUG is pleased to host ten mailing lists to keep you informed.
ODTUG-L for general ODTUG questions, discussions, and administrative notices
ODTUG-RULES-L for the discussion of business
Me too. I sort the messages by subject and then date received, and I often
see the responses before the original question.
I don't think it's unique to this list, though.

TOAD
has a GUI SQL Loader interface. It lets you use a wizard to create the CTL
file, then you can later just re-load that file and execute the
load.
