CM, We are using ORACLE 8.1.7.3 on HP-UX 11.0 for a fairly large warehouse project ( 150 Gigs growing at the rate of 15 Gigs a month) and with all the bells and whistles like STAR_TRANSFORMATION and partitioning turned on. Apart from some memory leak issue we are not facing any major problems. HTH

Are they 04020 deadlocks or 00060 deadlocks ? Are they deadlocking on TX mode 6 or TX mode 4 ? There isn't much useful information in your post, but if you are using bitmap star transformations it is possible that your deadlock is a TX mode 4 type due to concurrent updates in overlapping bitmap
