He he.. :) I guess my main point is that I rather peel down the
Layers of dependencies for my backup/recovery to work. I rather spend
a little more time in preparation and understanding to ensure my backup
and recovery were dependable rather than save a little time in setup.

Truth be told, I've never liked OEM for anything. I
supposed I'm jaded from the old days when configuring
it along with the intellegent agent was anything but
intellegent.
As for me and my house, we will use the command line.

RMAN is cool. Especially in 9i since everything is automated, as in
channel allocation and such.
RMAN in 8i was a bit painfull since a couple of steps were manually
necessary.
