re your suggestion to ask the vendors about the
Veritas File System,
both Sun and Hitachi said that the Veritas VxFS filesystem
is not portable across servers. Thus a Sun server
cannot read an VxFS file system on an HP server.
We cannot, therefore, backup a SAN shadow-image
of a Veritas
