Hi All,
I have come into a situation where most of the database systems are not

have any templates, resources, links that may provide either a template or
example of what should be documented?
Thanks
Rick

Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ:
Rick - As I understand it, you have inherited some database systems that
aren't well documented. Is there any relational entities implemented, such
as foreign key constraints? If there are, some tools like ERwin are pretty
capable of reconstructing the data model.

Lifetouch,
Check out the rda.sh script (Remote Diagnostic Assistant) that oracle
provides on MetaLink (search rda.sh). It creates a very nice ( extensible)
html report of everything you could want to know about your database.

Dennis,
Yes that is exactly correct. I inherited undocumented systems. I am not a
Erwin expert but I knew I could
reverse engineer to get a schema produce but did not know it would produce
a data model. I assume that is
what Erwin means by logical vs physical. Logical being the data model. I
Rick,
A while back, there was a document that a lister assembled and made
available. It is a wider scope that just the data model itself. While
not perfect, I have used it to get a handle on the whole system when I
stepped in to do an analysis of a system. If you want it, send me an
