of the OID and created the Oracle
context under it, with each DB a separate entry. I do not have so many
databases that I need more then that.
BTW - if you want to access OID from 8.1.6 clients you must put the Oracle
context under some entry, not on the root.

Chanukah is a Jewish holiday that is celebrated about the same time as
Christmas.
It depends on the differences between the Jewish calendar and the Christian
one.

that contain the branches
names.
On the fact table you have constraint: branch id must be in the branch
table.
When you import the fact table before the branch table all the records will
be rejected because the branch table does not have the ids yet.

Title: RE: Database/system Crashing
Got the same error on NT last week.
Check if there are system backups that backup the control
files.
When Veritas backup the control file as a regular file the
database can not write to it and you get this message.

I had some problems with stats pack install today.
There is: 'on error exit' in the scripts. Remove it so the script can
continue. This may solved your problem.

I think that you can try 2 things:
1) Run the function in the source db. Selects across links does funny stuff.
2) Write CSV file on the source system and sql loader on the target using
direct.

I get around the connect problem by setting oracle_sid before invoking
sqlplus (no W) from a dos box in NT.
Of course, this means that I work on the server itself.

Title: How to create two db-links within one schema when global_names=true?
You can create as many dblinks as you want provided
that the dblink name is the same as the global name of the database you connect
to.
In your example:
Create public database link HR connect to HR identified by
David
The problem is that HR and SHIPPING are the same database.
I wrote to him offline saying that he needs to create a user that have
access to both schemas and use one dblink only.

and you SQL reads too many blocks.
Use the BCHR as an indication. When it goes down it is time to check.

To add an example of what Anjo
on further checks and we
found more offending SQL's.
The BCHR has it's place.
Just do not measure yourself JUST by it.
