Title: OT: SQL Server Q?
sp configure 'user
connections'
This
is an advanced option (believe it or not), so you may have to do
"sp configure 'show
advanced options', 1" before you do "sp configure 'user connections'".
Alternatively you can just run SELECT
@@MAX CONNECTIONS
Returns

Title: RE: Win2k/8.1.7/SQL Question
Have a look at the SQL
Referenceguide in the 8i docs. It says that 8i is broadly compatible with
the ANSI SQL-99 Core specification, that explains why the SQL listed below works
with 8i.

Joe,
We only write out to tapes, so one channel
equals one tape drive, each extra channel goes and gets another drive. Not too
sure about disks, I guess it depends on I/O bandwith. Two channels will be
faster than one, if the disk can cope with the input from two channels then
maybe it

Yep,
we use it. You need to install TDP on every target server and then relink Oracle
to use Tivoli's libobk.so (or libobk.a). This applies to version 2.1, version
2.2 does not require the relink stage.

Title: RE: Deleting files on w2k
Unlike
UNIX, NT will not let you delete a file while another process (ie.
Oracle)has got a hold on it. I assume Win2K is the
same.

Your
best bet is to look at SQL Servers Data Transformation
Services.
So
long as you have Net8 plus an Oracle OLEDB provider installed on the SQL2000 box
you should be able to pull all of the Oracle tables across.
