Hi Rachel, I solved that way : Versions of ld prior to version 2.11 ignored the -z defs flag. ld version 2.11 and later have the ability to use this flag. Because of this the genclntsh script fails to produce the libclntsh.so library on a machine running ld 2.11. The -z defs is set in the

I've had this issue several times on several different versions of the database/solaris (and for 8.0.6 on NT). The first time I contacted Oracle support, they said to uninstall everything and re-install. Didn't work. Then I did a re-install of everything (over top of the failed install). And, lo

Yeah, I'm going to try that as well. And the change to the gentclntsh script of course, all of this is supposedly FIXED in 9.2 add to the mix the fact that I am supposed to be moving from one building to another (the date of the move keeps changing) and don't want to get caught in the middle of
