Job Title: Cisco Engineer Location: San Jose, CA Duration: 6+Months Rate: $40/hr Job Description: They are wanting to see someone from one of these skill sets, as a day-2 troubleshooter. Not just theory and read about it, definitely want someone to be able to have experience and be able to explain over the phone. Ability to communicate effectively and address points on resumes are key problems we are seeing. Whether or not they are up to par is insignificant relative to those aspects Let me provide you with more details technical skills description. Candidates do not have to be conclusive of all these, but skill sets and rate should reflect accordingly: Must have strong working experience with signaling protocols, Routing & Switching fundamentals. Understanding of congestion management techniques (such as implementing Quality of Service using Traffic Shaping, Priority and custom queuing and packet classification. Understand how real-time media such as audio and video are affected and how to remedy real-world problems associated with congestion, delay and packet loss. Solid understanding of CORE concepts with IP Telephony, call setup process/flow, call signaling, call control and media capabilities exchange. Solid understanding of Unified Communications Manager (versions 7.x and 8.x preferred). Understand how to deploy, configure and troubleshoot devices registered to a call processor (such as UCM, VCS/VCS Expressway, etc…). Basic experience with deploying and troubleshooting Cisco TelePresence Immersive, Multipurpose, and personal endpoints. Basic experience with deploying and troubleshooting Cisco TelePresence Infrastructure devices (e.g. MCU, MSE 8000 series, Cisco TelePresence Multipoint Switch and Cisco TelePresence Server. Familiarity with Data Center and Virtualization (UCS C-Series, UCS Manager). Basic understanding of OSI model and fundamentals in each layer (1 thru 7). Strong working knowledge with LINUX Kernel and UNIX environment.
