Job Title: Build Release Engineer
Location: Newton, MA
Duration: 6+ Months Contract
Rate: $55/Hr. On C2C.

Role: Build Release Engineer
Release Engineer The Software/Database Release Engineer will be a
responsible team member in helping to insure effective collaboration to
achieve timely deliverables with high performance, scalability,
extensibility and reliability. This position is a member of the Release and
Quality Management team which is a critical component of the product group.
This position will also support key delivery team members that deploys RbD
products to our client sites.

Primary Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on expertise for build and release engineering and maintain
automated test scripts for verification of both internal Recombinant and
Open Source products supported by Recombinant.
Prepare and package software and database releases. Package, validate and
troubleshoot release assemblies throughout dev, QA and production
environments.
Provide technical expertise and install release packages at client sites
Provide internal training and documentation to the RbD delivery team to
execute product deployments/upgrades for clients
Must possess good communication and client facing skills
Provide technical leadership to build new and update existing release
documentation
Coordinate and collaborate with other departments to resolve Release and
Build dependencies to ensure comprehensive, precise and timely Release
Deployments.
Adhere and enforce release/SCCM policies and procedures and continuously
contribute to their refinements over time
Interact with Engineering and Products teams to review specifications and
develop comprehensive release and test plans
Identify and define test cases, plans and strategies, and execute them to
validate new features and modifications
Provide timely status updates and assist the product team in making
decisions about particular release states and readiness
Collaborate with QA Engineers, Project Managers, Software Developers, Team
Leads, and Operations staff as required

Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 year of experience in designing, developing and coordinating
build automation to streamline web, application and database release
processes across multiple platforms
Strong knowledge of System Development Life Cycle(SDLC), configuration
management and release management methodologies
Experience in using SCM tools for change control such as SVN and GIT,
source code version control and package/release promotion of web
applications developed in Java or Microsoft technologies
Working knowledge of HTML, Java, ASP, .NET, SQL, Tomcat, Apache, IIS
Proficiency in at least one scripting language: Maven, Perl, Windows
(PowerShell) and UNIX shell scripting etc.
Working knowledge of Database concepts, RDMS such as Oracle, SQL Server,
and DB2 etc.
Experience implementing/automating test frameworks
Self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task and work under
minimal supervision
Must have leadership experience and willingness to lead a small team
Must be able to respond well to challenging deadlines and interface well
with various disciplines working with multiple teams
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Ability to stay abreast of new developments in related technologies and
educate other team members
BS/BA in Computer Science or related field
