Title: Data modeler Location: Columbus, Ohio Duration:12+months *Send me Resumes to rak...@sageitinc.com * *Description* Primary responsibility of the candidate will be to perform data analysis and performance tuning for a robust commercial cards application. In depth knowledge of TSYS is a plus. Currently the platform is on DB2 and could potentially migrate to Oracle. Advanced Knowledge of both databases management systems is a requirement. The candidate will Work closely with business partners to translate confirms and prospectus generation business rules to technical rules based on actual data from various sources. The position will require the candidate to perform data analysis and data mining to validate business rules. Analyze impact of proposed solution across the business, develop use cases to explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to IT team, and contribute a business or process perspective during design reviews. Provide IT test plans, and ensure that the proper testing plans have been completed. *The Leading candidate will be required to: * Drive design of data structures within an ODS/EDW environment (all layers) Understand and evaluate source system data as part of the ODS/EDW design Create Conceptual/Logical/Physical models for EDW staging, data integration, and reporting. Conduct Model reviews with project team members; Publish and communicate models to various IT and business-based teams, explaining how the model meets Use Cases. Drive metadata capture through data modeling application (Erwin) and maintain the repository and exchange of metadata through the various tools Promote and follow Enterprise Architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices around EDW data modeling efforts Develop data movement requirements/technical specifications into and across EDW layers Collaborate with Solution Architect and BI team to create data structures that facilitate data integration and meet/exceed reporting and analytical requirements. *Qualifications: * 5 years experience in development and architecture in a volume intensive data warehouse environment preferably in financial industry. 5 years experience working with DB2 Extensive experience working with Oracle Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical ability and the ability to work effectively with systems technical staff and business users. Significant experience working with data modeling, including relational design and data abstractions within financial services. Ability to develop, interpret and articulate data models and process models .
