What happened is an employee has left the company and they have not found a FTE replacement. They have decided to bring a contractor in for now since they have not filled the FTE role. They are looking for a very strong .NET C# developer that has experience with Oracle. The pluses for this role would be a candidate that also has SQL and Modeling/Solution design experience.*** Client is looking for a .NET developer that has experience working with Oracle and SQL Server (more the former than the latter). Some data modeling/design capabilities is also desired. The Senior Application Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining applications, programs, and procedures that the business would otherwise have to provide a competitive market advantage. This position will be expected to understand the business, translate functional and customer requirements into technical solutions, and execute on the needs in an effective and timely manner. They will also be required to learn and support existing systems and provide occasional architectural direction. All duties will be performed under limited to moderate oversight in a fast-paced environment. A proven ability to quickly understand and solve problems while providing clear and effective communication with users and analyst teams will be paramount. *Relationship and Service Management (20%)* • Maintains relationships and interacts with ZEMA, Spotfire, and custom application users to develop a standard understanding of the business and goals. • Maintains a proactive partnership between Trading, Analysis and the ETAT team. • Under general supervision communicates and interacts directly with ZEMA, Spotfire, and custom application users (typically traders and analysts) face-to-face and also via telephone, email or web interfaces to provide solutions to application issues, questions or support tickets. • Maintains relationships and acts as a primary contact with internal IT staff as well as third-party vendors as needed to provide appropriate application services and support. • Responsible for documenting and tracking support services provided. • Ensures application technology complies with Enterprise Architecture framework. Creates and/or provides input to application framework variances as needed. May participate in working groups to develop or update target architectures while also providing short-term bridges for those target architectures *Application Development, Implementation, and Release Management (55%)* • Follows release management processes and under general supervision performs the programming, configuration, testing and deployment of fixes or updates for application version releases • Includes performing the installation of patches, updates, and releases on development, test, quality assurance and production systems • Performs analysis on moderately complex, short-term implementations of solutions considering cost, reliability, performance and business strategy • Communicates directly with application support teams and prepares for new development efforts that will need to be supported • Assures proper transition to support has been completed, creating any necessary monitoring to help with support needs • Responsible for standard and moderately complex change request handling and effective change controls specifically relating to business unit and enterprise-wide implications *Break/Fix Problem Resolution (10%)* • Under general supervision reviews and analyzes escalated incident tickets and/or user requests and determines priority in accordance to service level agreements • Performs standard and moderately complex day-to-day incident and problem resolution by troubleshooting or researching technical application issues and offering proactive and reactive application support to the • end user • Develops and maintains troubleshooting documentation to assist in the resolution or elimination of incidents • May participate as part of an on-call rotation and responds to critical application issues outside of normal working hours as needed *Application Monitoring and Maintenance (5%)* • Monitors the application for recurring incidents and uses a standard knowledge of problem management methods to identify underlying root causes of incidents • Follows commonly defined processes and procedures to administer and maintain user access to the application and participates in projects related to risks and controls • Monitors applications with adequate ongoing performance.
