Phone interview this week (9/26-9/30)* What is really neat about the role is that this person will be taking the company to the next level and spearheading their 1st ever consumer bulbed product. What this company does is they create smart lighting within the residential space for cost savings and energy savings. So this person will be the sole firmware engineer/SME for this project. *Top skills are:* •5+ years of experience developing embedded firmware - demonstrated ability to deliver on solutions and own development from concept through production launch •5+ years of experience creating controls related solutions including networked control systems •Experience in multithreaded programming, network programming (wired and wireless protocols), cross platform and cross language development •Expert skill level in developing and debugging in C and C++ *Responsibilities:* •Develop smart lighting and intelligent controller system solutions for residential application. •Create detailed software requirements and specifications based on product specifications. •Design and implement embedded firmware from concept to production including a high level of interaction with hardware, embedded firmware, test, and product marketing team members. •Implement mesh networked lighting control systems including network interfaces, protocols, sensors, and control algorithms. •Work with cross functional development team to ensure the system performs according to specifications and quality requirements. •Write software test plans and conduct developer level testing, interface with system test team members. •Support, maintain, and document software functionality. •Perform code reviews and other activities to ensure high-quality results. •Drive software development best practices and leverage tools to achieve high quality and on-time delivery of software work products. •Work directly with Manufacturing Operations and Engineering to ramp new products and processes into production. •Work across company functional organizations to ensure project success. *Minimum Qualifications:* •Demonstrated expert with a track record of creating highly innovative first-to-market products and features. •B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other technical related field. •5+ years of experience developing embedded firmware. Strong organizational skills both in day to day work flow and in software documentation. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills. •Self-starter with strong personal work ethic.
