*Sr MySQL DBA* *Location – MenLo Park, CA* *Duration – 3-5 Months. May get extended* *Responsibilities*: - Provide support for Mint/Quicken database instances across production and development environments - Review/perform data manipulations (DML) and data definition (DDL) changes to support application requirements - Serve in an on-call rotation as an escalation contact for critical database production issues and drive escalation/resolution of problems into the Operations team - Work with developers to design and improve complex SQL queries so they are optimized - Develop and maintain database monitoring tools and automation systems - Participates in capacity planning and sets up new shards as necessary - Manage replication links between master-slave/master-master to maintain high availability - Monitor performance and tune databases to optimize for different workloads - Perform/maintain backups, offsites and restores of MySQL backups - Provide data warehousing support to data teams - Maintain documentation and standards on production database environments - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to take ownership and exercise good judgment - Strong communicator and works independently, as well as in a team environment *Requirements*: - BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline - Minimum of 5 years administering MySQL Server in a mission critical environment - Expert at troubleshooting MySQL related issues (lock contention, high load, slow queries, performance, etc) and identifying root causes - Experience with Nagios, Ganglia, Cacti and/or other tools such as CA Spectrum and Wily Introscope - Ability to script using Bash/Perl/Python to automate database activities - Proficient with the CLI and a working understanding with CentOS/RHEL - Experience administering large InnoDB tables *Nice to haves:* - Experience working with MySQL replication across WANs - Experience working with MySQL on shared network storage - Experience with Percona Server and working with XtraDB storage engine - Experience with CentOS/RHEL systems administration Thanks&Regards, Davis Idexcel Technologies.
