This individual is knowledgeable in all aspects of system integration and has a working knowledge of network systems and hardware. The individual is confident in analyzing requirements and creating design specifications for new or existing applications and for integrations between systems. The individual in this position serves as a leader in the integration of solutions and application design. The Solution Architect will work with Enterprise Architecture group in designing and integrating overall solutions. * Role responsibilities:* • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, system inputs and outputs. • Architect solution options in accordance with State and NCDOT Enterprise Architecture and security and emerging SOA standards. • Review the high-level application architecture options with business clients and other technical experts. • Define and document the final application architecture. • Work with developers to design the components/object/data structure of the application • Coordinate new system development to ensure it is consistent and well integrated with existing application systems and COTS solutions • Analyze and estimate feasibility and compatibility with hardware and other programs • Interface with Enterprise Architects and provide ongoing status • Consult with clients to prototype, refine, test, and debug applications to meet needs • Write and maintain documentation to describe software infrastructure and maintain changes and corrections • Write documentation or review documentation written by others that describes implementation and operating procedures. * Skills Needed* • MUST have hands-on experience designing and developing both Microsoft and MainFrame based Web Services- Required 7 Years • Experience architecting enterprise, technical solutions using advanced technologies- Required 7 Years • Strong, demonstrated application design and development skills (object-oriented analysis and design techniques)- Required 7 Years • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 preferably including MDS, DQS & SSIS- Required 7 Years • .NET and BizTalk design and development experience- Required 7 Years • Business/Consumer-facing web applications and Web Services- Required 7 Years • Portal / web services design/development- Required 5 Years • Experience on large government technology solution projects specifically in support of a State Motor Vehicle Organization - Required 1 Year • Experience architecting solutions in accordance with State DMV Enterprise Architecture, security, and project management standards and methods- Required 1 Year • Working knowledge of various multi-user, multi-tasking operating systems/platforms (Unix, Windows, z/OS) - Required 5 Years • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer confidence in ability to deliver to business needs. - Required 5 Years • Solid written, oral communications and presentation skills- Required 5 Years • Experience architecting integrations with Enterprise SAP solutions.
