*The Desktop Support Technician’s role is to provide excellent customer
service and ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the
desktop systems within the organization. This includes installing,
diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all PC hardware and
peripheral equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. Daily
operational support of the VDI, including diagnosing and troubleshooting
problems and escalate issues. The person will also troubleshoot problem
areas (in person, by telephone, or via email) in a timely and accurate
fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required. Should be
responsible for OS upgrade project, pushing images out to desktops and
troubleshooting with end users*



*Responsibilities:*

*• Responsible for imaging and software installs on end user devices. This
includes ADMT / SCCM  tool for Windows7 upgrade*

*• Troubleshoots the installation/upgrading, configuration, troubleshooting
and support of various Windows operating systems and compatible software
applications within a Windows Active Directory environment & TCP/IP
networking environment. *

*• Troubleshoots and supports file and print services within a TCP/IP
network environment, which include HP LaserJet printers within an Active
Directory Domain & TCP/IP networking *

*• Perform user data and/or application backup and verification as
necessary. *

*• Conducts performance and functional testing on desktop equipment and
desktop software and restores any data and /or applications as necessary.
Adjusts configuration options as required for installation. *

*• Creates a data backup/archive for desktop environment components
scheduled to be de-installed and remove all desktop software, data files,
custom applications, licensed software, etc. *

*• Provides appropriate instructions for users of newly installed desktop
environment components. *

*• Initializes de-installed desktop environment components to a base
operating system install. Verifies final disposition of asset (e.g. lease
return, scrap, return to manufacturer for replacement, etc.) and gain
approval for replacement or disposal of any failed desktop environment
components *

*• Administration of OS registry level and active directory. *

*• Use of LANDesk for inventory, reports and image deployment. *

*• Identify network issues as it relates to end user device.*

*• Patch the newly installed end user device with latest MS security
patches using SCCM*

*• Monitor helpdesk queues, process tickets, and interface with users in
fixing issues*

*• Workstation/Laptop/Printer installation, configuration, maintenance, and
troubleshooting*

*• Workstation/Printer setup and/or relocation*

*• Support ongoing usability of virtual desktop computers within
established standards and guidelines*

*• Software installation, setup, and troubleshooting*

*• Active Directory Users and Computers Management*

*• Antivirus and patch management*

*• Intermediate network troubleshooting*

*• Assist with communication between other IT teams*

*• Diagnose phone/VoIP issues*
