Position : *Oracle DBA* Duration : 4-6 months Location : New York, NY Rate : $45.00/Hour Max *Need only Locals :* *Responsibility:* • Part of a team that supports the corporate Oracle databases that are critical to the efficient operation of the systems used by various business entities • Install Oracle software, maintain databases across multiple platforms, perform modifications to databases, enforce database security, maintain database backup/recovery procedures, migrate database schema changes, engage in capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, and manage highly-available production database instances for corporate systems. • Evaluate existing processes for possible refinement and working with development teams to establish a multi-year plan of activities requiring DBA services. *Skills/Experience:* • A minimum of 5 years of Oracle database administration experience is required • Experience administrating Oracle databases in the Linux, Windows and UNIX server environments. • Candidate must be proficient in the use of Enterprise Manager Grid Control and RAC • In-depth knowledge of SQL coding, Perl, Korn Shell, and Microsoft VBS coding. • Excellent communication skills to interface with application developers, managers, directors, technology and planning personnel, and business users throughout the company. • Must be able to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while still meeting deadlines.
