*Location: Wilmington, DE*
*Duration: 1 Year Contract*
REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Minimum 5-7 years experience as an Oracle DBA in a production environment
with 10g and 11g version, team setting providing 24/7 support to
mission-critical applications and databases
-Development experience is a plus
-Solid and proven skills in managing database lifecycles - builds, patching,
backups, recoveries, tuning
-Strong familiarity with industry-standard monitoring, backup, and security
tools
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or
closely-related (e.g. Math, Engineering)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-This position is part of a DBA team that provides administration for Oracle
databases across entire promotional environment (dev, QA, prod), as well as
disaster recovery.
-Responsible for ensuring maximum up-time with maximum throughput to meet
established service-level agreements (SLAs), ensuring backup integrity, and
providing support to development and application support groups as needed.
-Responsible for ensuring compliance to established database security
guidelines as well as industry best practices.
-Responsible for meeting project deadlines and deliverables.
-Participation in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 database support
-Monitor incident ticket queue and troubleshoot and resolve database
incidents within SLAs
-Monitor backup results and resolve/troubleshoot failed database backups
-Monitor storage capacity and consumption, trend long term usage, and
proactively work with Architecture group to plan SAN procurement
-Monitor database and server performance and identify current and future
potential bottle-necks
-Review, maintain, and periodically test database recovery procedures
-Monitor violations discovered by security compliance tool and remediate
issues as needed
-Apply database security patches
-Apply database maintenance patches and upgrade databases to supported
release levels
-Perform new builds as required by discretionary projects
-Support application upgrades of third party software, where a database
Analyzes, develops, tests and implements database designs in support of
corporate and client area technology requirements.
