*ROLE : SQL Database Developer*
*Location: Annapolis MD*
*Duration: 3 – 4 months*
*Specific Job Responsibilities: *
- Meets database and web design / development standards by: following
production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards;
identifying work process improvements; and implementing new technology
- Works closely with the client community to plan database and web
projects and confirm software objectives and specifications
- Arranges technical specifications by confirming logical sequence,
developing appropriate flowcharts and researching / employing established
operations
- Verifies database and web solutions operations by developing tests to
confirm responsiveness of coding and system integration
- Completes delivery of technical initiative solutions by directing the
efforts of both internal technical staff and external contracting personnel
- Contributes to the career development of other technical staff by
recommending both professional and academic educational opportunities
- Ensures that the database-related system software tools and respective
supporting hardware are periodically evaluated and recommends upgrades
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the tools, including security,
supported by the Help Desk staff and associated service level processes;
recommends / implements appropriate enhancements
- Maintains the telephones and communication infrastructure; evaluates
their respective effectiveness and recommends / implements appropriate
enhancements
- Updates job knowledge by participating in professional / academic
educational opportunities, reading professional publications and
maintaining personal networks
- Accomplishes department and organization mission by completing
assigned deliverables on time and within budget

Participates in project team meetings and leads working session meetings
as needed

Assists in planning the strategic direction of the Technology
organization
*Job Skills/Qualifications:*
- Over seven (7) years direct work experience in a database programmer
or database administrator capacity; including all phases of the SDLC from
requirements definition to production deployment, in the following
technical disciplines:
- Software development tools and languages
- SQL Server
- C#
- Software application systems (plus)
- SalesForce.com
- Infrastructure
- *MS SQL Server 2008 R2, including Analysis Services*
- *Windows Active Directory*
- *Windows HyperVisor*
- *IIS*
- *Windows Server 2008 R2, 2010, 2012*
- *MSOffice 365 (Administration)*
- Demonstrated experience in non-technical knowledge, experience,
and skills (leadership, management, oral and written communication, etc.)
- Developing database and web initiatives for projects with global wide
stakeholders and clients is a plus
- Experienced working with remote (off site) developers and/or vendors
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to react to project adjustments promptly and efficiently
without compromising quality
- Must be able to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
through analytical and problem solving capabilities
- Must be flexible during times of change and adapt according to change
in direction
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources,
including upper management, clients and other departments
- Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure
environment is crucial
*Education:*
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is required
- Advanced degree in a technical area such as Information Systems,
Computer Science, Operations Management or an MBA preferred
- The following certifications are a plus:
- Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist
- Microsoft Certified Solution Engineer
- Oracle Certified Database Administrator
- Oracle Certified Professional
