This is a contract position in the consulting industry. Technical Requirements Through understanding of the OSI model with extensive knowledge of TCP/IP and IEEE standards (including, but not limited to 802.1, 802.11 and 802.3) Experience with Global Service Providers and maintaining large WANs Testing complex firmware, software version interdependencies; managing and implementing upgrades Experience and/or interest in developing Cloud Native Architectures particularly in AWS Broad experience with Microsoft technologies and Linus/open source Active in technical communities and forums such as the IET, Cisco Communities and AWS Job Description Our client is seeking a Network Engineer/Analyst to join the Architecture and Operations team. An ideal candidate will be able to handle a fast-paced, dynamic environment working on cross-functional technology teams while bringing a strong work ethic, attention to detail and a variety of technology skills needed to assist internal clients. A background in networking, telecommunications and project management is a plus. The Network Consulting Engineer position is responsible for the support and delivery of Advanced Services Network Optimization Service (NOS) to Cisco's major SP accounts in the US Theater. Performs and drives architectural, design and integration engineering for complex network infrastructure solutions. Advanced Service NCEs assist customers with tool selection and strategic direction of tools and network management systems. NCEs identify and document network design and architecture best practices. Advanced Services NCEs align and drive focused deliverables with customers business strategy and objectives. Excellent technical and communications skills are required. NCEs will provide backup support on other Advanced Services accounts. Engineers will leverage and generate applicable technical "best practices" and white papers. In addition to a NCEs day-to-day customer activities, training and mentoring other NEC's will be required. Other Objectives include: Perform analysis and diagnosis of complex networking problems Build simulated networks in test labs to resolve problems and compatibility issues Provides ad hoc systems/product training Generates reusable Intellectual Capital in the form of standard customer deliverables. Questions ways of working and suggests improvements. Act as the technical specialist for complex deployments. Act in a technical team leadership capacity Identifies skills and business shortfalls, partners with management to establish programs to address Skills required: Key Skills/Experience: Knowledgeable in IP Internetworking (R/S), Service Provider Infrastructure, SP Routing Architectures and Protocols, WAN Switching, MPLS, Network Optimization Must have experience with Cisco Service Provider solutions including ASR9K and the XR operating system Must have understanding of Service Provider Operational Environments and troubleshooting methodologies Additional technologies of interest: Network design skills Data Center / Cloud, CDN, Optical, Network Management Undertake support as designated Advanced Services Engineer for Customer networking environments. Ability to leverage technical expertise of others Experience in internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment Must possess strong technical account management skills. Hi, Kindly let me know if you have any suitable candidate for this position. I need a senior Cisco router network engineer for Tenneco in Lincolnshire, IL. Contract is for a minimum 5 months but should go much longer. · Candidate needs 5+ years of US experience along with solid comm skills. · Candidate should have a ccnp and be an expert with Cisco Routers, Wireless Technologies, and Security. · They will do a phone interview followed by an in person interview.
