Individuals in this role is responsible for analyzing data from multiple
standpoints (Business, Technical, Quality, Impact, etc.), help business
users come up with a standard definition of the data elements, build a
domain level catalog of meta data, adopt Data Governance process, and
extensively document the complete process of data-flow.  The incumbent is
expected to possess professional level competency and serve as subject
matter expert in Data Analysis with strong analytical and problem solving
skills. Technical knowledge to mine data and read & understand data models
is very important. Excellent written and communication skills to report
findings in a clear, structured manner is essential.

*Required Skills*
The candidate must • Be a very competent Data Analyst with domain knowledge
in *Investments, Capital Markets and Treasury domain who can thrive in a
fast paced environment.*
• Be proactive, self-starter, and have a proven track record to work
independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with other BA’s,
Business users, Technical team, Vendors, onshore and offshore team as
required.
*• Have extensive experience in analyzing data, data governance, gathering
and documenting business requirements, developing functional specifications
for a standard application as well as for a data project, defining use
cases and coming up with test cases*.
• Possess strong process analysis skills and ability to suggest
improvements for efficiency, effectiveness of solutions, and recommend
industry best practices.
• Have prior experience of having *designed canonical models for a
financial industry or at least have knowledge of how to build one.*
• Have experience in a similar project is a must.
• Conduct data *analysis and moderately complex designs algorithm*.
• Be able to define the validity of the information, how long the
information is meaningful and what other information it is related to
• Work with data steward to ensure that the information used is in
compliance with market best practices, internal data governance and
security policies.
• Be able to identify and analyze patterns in the volume of data supporting
the initiative, the type of data, and meaningfully classify them for
metadata purposes.
• Partner with data stewards and data owners to define the data quality
expectation in the context of a specific use case.
• Have observational skills, to validate data obtained via other techniques
and expose new areas for elicitation
• Have organizational skills, to work with the vast array of information
gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing
information
• Possess strong oral, written, presentational and inter-personal skills
• *Have experience in planning, writing and executing test cases as well as
help business users define UAT test cases.*
• Have hands on experience in using SQL or other programing language to
automate the testing.
• Have experience in using *tool/SQL queries to reconcile data and automate
the testing*.
• Hit the ground running from day 1.

*Education & Experience*
• Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems, Finance or Accounting, *with
a minimum of 8-10 years relevant technical and business work experience*.
• Experience as a Business/Data Analyst for a large institution engaged in
financial management & analytics.
• Candidate must demonstrate ability to quickly understand new concepts.
• *Expert level knowledge in leading RDBMS (specifically Oracle and
Microsoft SQL Server*).
• Working knowledge in Data Modeling and concepts of Data Architecture,
Data Warehousing, ETL, Reporting Tools and Data Visualization platforms.

*Project*
• The project involves gathering data elements and mapping it to
Investments, Capital markets, Accounting and Treasury domain processes.
• Identify data owners and data stewards for each of the critical data
elements.
• *Create data dictionary for the CDE’s.*
• Communicate the data governance policies surrounding the Critical Data
Elements.
• Document the data flow processes.
*• Create test cases and document the same for Data Quality Validation,
Data Profiling and Data Flows*.
• Duration of the project is initially for 3 months.  Extensions are purely
based on performance.
