This software development position will add value to the client's Core
Video development team as they continue to deliver high quality media
playback and authentication solutions necessary to support the client's
short term and long term strategic video initiatives, including TV
Everywhere, mobile and connected device application development, and
website support for their brands. This position will be involved in
developing new media frameworks on mobile platforms primarily for Android
devices, as well as connected devices such as Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast,
Xbox One. The right candidate must be a self-learner and be able to work in
a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality and defect-free code for
projects throughout the year that have fixed deadlines. Working on a
small-dedicated team, the candidate will collaborate with product
development and a wide range technical teams and vendors which develop
applications on top of the media and entitlement frameworks.
Specific job duties include: - Work close with Technical leads to maintain
and extend a custom video player framework for Android and potentially
other mobile platforms. - Collaborate with Product Management on proof of
concepts, demos, and prototypes. - Willing to demonstrate working
prototypes and designs to other team members - Document designs clearly and
efficiently. Be willing to develop on multiple platforms utilizing
different languages.
*Qualifications:*
-Minimum 3+ years of professional software development experience.
-2+ years experience with Java, C++, Python, C# or other object oriented
languages
-2+ years experience developing on mobile platforms (preferably Android).
-B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or training.
-Excellent troubleshooting skills
-Strong technical knowledge especially in emerging technologies/platforms
-Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and fundamentals of
software design
-Demonstrates ability to master new technologies quickly
-Willingness to work in a fast-paced, highly technical environment
