Linux Engineer Location: Southglenn CO-Locals to CO Employment type: Contract POSITION SUMMARY: Effectively support the EPS Corporate Engineering team that owns enterprise-level advertising platforms and services. Work with the engineering team to create workflows, media solutions, and test newly released products in the lab. Would be responsible to build and support lab systems and networking environments. POSITION DURATION/LOCATION: Position would be active through the end of 2016 with a likelihood of extension. Office location is at the Comcast Dry Creek Facility, 4100 East Dry Creek Road, Centennial, CO. QUALIFICATIONS. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Advanced Engineer level III with at least 5 years of software development experience in Python and scripting languages such as: Go, Perl, Ruby and Node.JS. Will be part of a Software Development tools team that supports overall Change Management processes and customer changes to the network. This is an agile team with a lot of daily interaction, stand-ups and scrum sessions with 2 week sprint cycles. Candidate must have strong interpersonal/communication skills and be able to interact with Project leads and technical/non-technical personnel on a daily basis. This is NOT just a heads-down coding role. Database skills in MySQL, Cassandra preferred and helpful but not required. Understanding of Network concepts and terms as well as change management processes helpful and preferred but not required. Skills: • 5 years Software development experience in Python • Advanced scripting background in: Go, Perl, Ruby or Node.JS (or combination of scripting languages) • Agile work experience • Strong communication and interpersonal skills Bonus Skills: • MySQL or Cassandra • Kafka • Understanding of Network concepts and terms as well as change management processes Type of Assignment: Contract through EOY, possibly extended due to backlog of work.
