Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a type of data-carrying technique for high-performance telecommunications networks that directs data from one network node to the next based on short path labels rather than long network addresses, avoiding complex lookups in a routing table. Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a protocol for speeding up and shaping network traffic flows. *Qualifications:* *Highly skilled project manager with 10 plus years experience running complex infrastructure projects.* Looking for someone who has experience running MPLS deployments hopefully within a electric utility. A candidate with a BS or MS in electrical engineering is desirable given this project will be deploying systems within our substation environments. PMP current certification is also required. Requires skills in conceptualizing, documenting, and & quot-selling & quot; solutions to senior management. Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations. Ability to develop and deliver projects using solid project management skills, with the ability to multitask and manage large projects in a cross-functional setting. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills in setting and managing client expectations. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. *Responsibilities: * IT Project Mgmt: Responsible for managing multiple teams that will design and deploy an MPLS environment whose goal is to transform our substation environments from TDM to IP. The candidate will need to ensure tight communications with both our substation engineering teams as well as our IT Infrastructure organizations. Prepares business case. Creates and executes project work plans. Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities. Enforces our IT project standards, minimizes exposure and risk on projects, and ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis. Manages project budget.
