*Position:- IBM AS/400 iSeries Consultant * *Location:- Omaha, Nebraska* *Duration:- 12+ Months* *MOI:- Telephonic + Skype* *Essential Functions:* - Provides strategic recommendations on resources required to maintain/expand or consolidate service levels on existing complex system environments based on business needs - Provides skilled technical assistance in systems planning, engineering and architecture - Experience working on AS/400 midrange systems. - Develops technical standards, interface applications and provides resolutions for system problems - Defines and oversees implementation of midrange system security procedures - Responsible for continued awareness of new technology and features being developed on the current installed midrange systems as well as other midrange platforms including hardware and software environments - Responsible for system hardware and software upgrades ensuring system wide availability and capacity needs are met in a timely fashion - Responsible for system security; ensuring standards, policies and best practices are followed and maintained on all systems within area of responsibility - Responsible for system configurations including physical, virtual and logical components - Interfaces directly with vendors to identify and recommend hardware and software solutions for needed system expansion. - Provides skilled technical support in liaison with vender technical personnel to installed products - Assists with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning within area of responsibility - Provides lead technical support in identifying and providing resolutions to complex problems that involve hardware, system software and application design and coding - Interfaces directly with vendor developers to spearhead these efforts *Required Skills:* - Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience - Minimum five years experience in IBM Midrange Systems and Client Server environments - Past experience supporting a complex system environment - Excellent communication skills both written and oral - Self-motivated, goal-oriented, team player, possessing proven leadership, and technical project management qualities - Must become proficient in the company’s operational procedures and systems capabilities - Expert knowledge of system performance profiling and security auditing practices Regards, Vijay Saraswat, Assistant Recruitment Manager Phone 248-565-4747 Ext-108 Fax: 248.254.7211 Tekshapers Inc 1441 E Maple Rd,Suit#301,Troy,Michigan, USA Certification: WMBE Certified | E-Verified Company | ISO 9001:2008 PSave trees.
