Oralux 0.7 alpha is a straigthforward way for trying Emacspeak, Speakup or Yasr, text-based Accessibility softwares driving Speech synthesisers. This CD has been released in May 2006. Its development has been postponed for more contributing to the common Accessibility by voice synthesiser in Linux. The original aim, Oralux 2.0, an intuitive talking environment is still targeted though. Today, an up to date and consistent text-based environment is offered in the GRML CD. The Gnome desktop is becoming more and more accessible. We can observe that some text-based users have switched to the bleeding edge Gnome environment offered in Ubuntu. They still rely on text-based tools in this graphical environment. The Orca screen reader developped by Sun is undoubtly the most attractive software in the Gnome Accessibility Project. LSR is also another screen reader developped by IBM. Besides it, in Oralux 0.7 alpha there is no particular help for selecting your audio card. In principle, Alsa, the GNU/Linux sound system, enables this via an asoundrc configuration file. Best wishes, *** En réponse a une personne découvrant GNU/Linux. Le CD Oralux 0.7 alpha est un moyen rapide d'essayer Emacspeak, Speakup ou Yasr, solutions d'Accessibilité en mode texte pilotant des synthèses vocales. Ce CD a été diffusé en mai 2006. Depuis quelques mois, son développement est différé pour plus contribuer à l'accessibilité par synthèse vocale sous Linux. Aujourd'hui, le CD GRML propose un environnmenet en mode texte très a jour et consistant (Emacspeak, Yasr et Speakup en anglais y sont inclus). Le bureau Gnome devient de plus en plus accessible. Et nous observons que certains utilisateurs du mode texte migrent vers l'environnement graphique. Ils continuent d'utiliser certains logiciels en mode texte dans cet environnement. Le lecteur d'écran Orca développé par Sun est sans aucun doute le logiciel le plus apprécié pour l'Accessibilité de Gnome. LSR est aussi un autre lecteur d'écran développé par IBM.
