Harold Koopowitz has done a very nice job with his new book 'Tropical
Slipper Orchids'.
Koopowitz has made me reconsider paphs. Well, actually he's made me
see that every paph in my collection is crap and I need to start over again.

Sorry Jay, I can't help you..
But thanks for listing this array of wonderfull names. I suspect a lot of
Dutch colonial history behind them..

Dear Siegrid
This is a Erythrina crista-galli aka Coral Tree, which belongs to the
Clover-family Fabaceae. Órchid-trees'are in most cases actually Bauhinia,
but anyway, as far as I know, no real orchid species can in any way be
described as a 'tree'..

I remember the confusion of tounges the first time I talked to american
scientists using scientific names..
>>>only the Dutch and Flemish can pronounce "Scheveningen" properly.<<
Ever heared an American inform after the location o
oblem and it helped. I haven't heard him
complain about any vinegar or sodium problems, It may be however that the
added vinegar or salt-taste did the trick with the squirrels.

If anyone in France knows this individual maybe you can write him to let
him know that this violates many international laws.

Well it obviously helped. The site is more or less closed down and the maker
thanks everybody who pointed out mistakes to him..
the (Dutch..) summer. Now it produces fat bulbs and eight
buds on a bulb this year.
Maybe it is too conservative to think all orchids are greenhouse plants. Do
any of you know other orchids that seem to do better outside then in a
conservatory or such?
