Aside from whether "public invited" counts in privately owned space,
lots, maybe most, dances are in public spaces like schools, town
halls, even national parks (Glen Echo)

For what it's worth, when I got it I had symptoms for ~9 days and 3
negative tests including PCR before I tested positive.
(I was staying home that whole time, because it was "something" even
if not COVID.)
I've read it tends to take longer to test
