Do you know if this variation was created by Gershon Legman which he calls
Improved Lotus?

I have a copy of the Phoenix magazine where Legman published the Improved
Lotus, as well
Anyone out there know something about John M. Andreas? Both Gershon Legman and
David Lister considered him to be an important researcher of the history of
paper folding. He worked in the 1930's, so his research was really advanced
(even prior to Lister's and Legman's).
