Hello,

This appear to be my "modular bipyramid", the simplest of my "creative 
bipyramids" set, the name of the set was chosen because the external layer made 
in step 1 can be folded into a lot of different decorative patterns, making 
this unit the base for a lot of easy to find variations.

I dont remember when it was first published, probably in a CDO magazine around 
1983.
More recent diagrams of it (and 10 of its variations) can be found in the XXII 
CDO convention book (2004).

By the way i'm pretty sure also other designers have discovered this very 
simple unit, so i dont know for sure if i can credit myself as the first 
creator.
