Some years ago, I designed an origami lamp based on a curved fold (“Elliptic 
Infinity”) that came out of work I was doing with the good folks at BYU. I put 
together a homemade prototype using some laser-cut plastic and stick-on LED 
tape, which I’ve showed at some origami conventions. Somewhat later, the 
company Lumigogo (now Heron Elite) contacted me to manufacture it. It’s now for 
sale in limited form; you can buy it here:

Somewhat annoyingly, the distributor requires creating an online account even 
to let you see the page and price. But you only need to provide an email 
address (and you can generate a throwaway address at lots of places if you need
