Some years ago, I designed an origami lamp based on a curved fold (“Elliptic Infinity”) that came out of work I was doing with the good folks at BYU. I put together a homemade prototype using some laser-cut plastic and stick-on LED tape, which I’ve showed at some origami conventions. Somewhat later, the company Lumigogo (now Heron Elite) contacted me to manufacture it. It’s now for sale in limited form; you can buy it here:
