On 29jan14, Rosemary Browne wrote about this model and commented on my
input RE the book that I have that includes a diagram for this model.
I just want to clarify that it *is* in this book by Maying Soong, but
the author does not claim to have designed the model. In fact the
entire book appears to be showcasing models that are considered
Traditional in Chinese culture.
----- "The Question" about what is a traditional model comes up now &
then. I use this rule: If I have knowledge that it has been around for
more than 100 years and don't know of any claimed author/designer,
then I consider it Traditional. If someone else calls it Traditional,
then I usually do, too, if I have no knowledge to the contrary. On the
other hand, if I don't know how long it's been around, and don't know
who designed it, I usually say "Designer is Unknown" until I get input
to the contrary. I believe the David Lister White Papers on the BOS
site also discuss this to some degree. There may be a different view
there.
