I like this method, it doesn't leave unwanted creases on the paper. Now, my
experience is that when I teach it to relative origami beginners, some struggle a little bit with it.
If you try to do the S-method against the grain it's hard to get it right. Maybe these people won't be struggling so much after they've rotated the paper 90 degrees.
