Hi everyone,

as it's the first Saturday of August, it's time for another instructional
video of mine. Or, indeed, two!
As my main instructional video is on the tessellation "Five-and-Four" by
Eric Gjerde, which works on a square grid, I decided to also make a video
with some tips on how to fold a square grid. While it's surely not the only
way, the video includes some tips I hope you'll find helpful.

Thanks to Eric Gjerde for his wonderful book, Origami Tessellations (
http://www.happyfolding.com/book-gjerde-origami_tessellations), which also
includes diagrams for "Five-and-Four", and his ongoing support and his
permission to make videos on his tessellations. Do also check out his
websitehttp://www.origamitessellations.com/which is an excellent resource
for tessellations - including this page where Eric explains how he likes to
fold
grids:http://www.origamitessellations.com/2013/02/how-to-pre-creasing/Incidentally,
it's quite similar to what I demonstrate in the video.

The second video in my new series "Your Origami Folds" where I show photos
of models you sent me is also online. It features your folds of "Sparaxis"
by Ekaterina Lukasheva.

The deadline for submissions for the next "Your Origami Folds" is a week
from now (August 9th), the model to fold is the fawn by Stephen Weiss:

And for September, it'll be all about "Five-and-Four" by Eric Gjerde
(deadline: September 13th).

Now, enjoy the weekend and as always happy folding,
