Hi everybody,

last month I forgot to send you an update on my newest videos, so this
message will include even more updates than usual. :)

So let's jump right in!

1. Hydrangea Tiles (Shuzo Fujimoto, Peter Budai)
I've been wanting to make a tutorial on the tiling technique I learned
about from Peter Budai's guide for years, but never managed to contact him
successfully. This changed late last year. With lots of work since, I'm now
pleased to announce a tutorial on said method!

Peter Budai's guide is also available for download at
https://www.happyfolding.com/files/Budai-Patterned_Tiles.pdf

Thanks to Shuzo Fujimoto for his wonderful hydrangea, which I have folded
so many times in different variations by now, and to Peter Budai for his
wonderful introduction to tessellating this design, and similar ones. Both
have been generous enough to allow me to share their wonderful work with
you, which I am very thankful for - and hope you are, too.
Plus, check out Peter Budai's website for more of his work, including many
diagrams: http://www.budaiorigami.hu/

2. Foxhound (David Brill)
To celebrate the start of the lunar year 2018 - which is the year of the
dog in the Chinese calendar - I made a tutorial for a wonderful foxhound
designed by Dave Brill. Dave not just gave me permission to present the
model in a video, but even wrote an article on how the foxhound came about.
Thanks, Dave!

more of his wonderful work - including diagrams for a slight variation of
the foxhound, a seated dog: https://brilliantorigami.

3. Kangaroo (Stephen Weiss)
For Australia Day (January 26th), I decided to revisit a kangaroo designed
by Stephen Weiss. I'd done a tutorial for it in 2007, one of my earliest
videos, so I hope you enjoy the update!

Thanks to Stephen for his ongoing support and permission to present his
models!

4. Roast Turkey (Kayhan Qaiser)
Are you hungry from all the folding yet? Then this next model might make
your stomach rumble! Kayhan designed a delightful roast turkey - a model
perfect for Thanksgiving, but also for any special Sunday occasion. :)

Thanks to Kayhan for this wonderful model and his permission to present it
in a video! Also check out his website, in particular his page on various
animal shapes: http://kayhanqaiser.com/music/2016/01/26/origami-

5. Love is Blind (Francis Ow)
For a bit of fun, and just in time for Valentine's Day, I made a tutorial
on Francis Ow's delightful "Love is Blind" - heart-shaped origami glasses.
And, yes, you can wear them - but beware, they might blind you. :)

Also check out Francis' page *http://owrigami.com/ <http://owrigami.com/>* and
send him good wishes on https://www.facebook.com/owrigami

6. Technique videos
"Love is Blind" is folded from a long rectangle, so I figured it wouldn't
hurt to show you how I like to cut those from a roll of wrapping paper:

https://youtu.be/PMbjH84zCvc or https://www.happyfolding.
com/instructions-cut_long_rectangles

I also made a video on how to cut 2 by 5 rectangles:

https://youtu.be/3CLKytrOQ2s or https://www.happyfolding.
com/instructions-2_by_5_from_square

Here are two models you might want to fold from 2 by 5 rectangles:

"Star Luisium" by Angelika Spindler: https://youtu.be/oCcpe4YYNjI
"Undina Kusudama" by Maria Sinayskaya: https://youtu.be/HYPymlU2s9Q

Phew, those should keep you a while busy. They definitely kept me busy in
production. :)

And if that's not enough to keep you occupied, here's a sneak peek of
what's coming next:

7. Daffodil (Assia Brill)
On March 17th a tutorial for Assia's beautiful daffodil (or narcissus) is
going to go online. A week before I'll release a time-lapse of me folding
the model. But if you're eager to fold the model already, Assia and Dave
released diagrams for the flower this week already. It's of course a
wonderful model all year round, but I think it's especially nice to fold to
welcome spring and makes a stunning Easter decoration.

With that I wish you lots of fun and happy folding,

-- Sara
