Lampshades are made from parchment, not parchment paper. Parchment is made from 
animal skin. Parchment paper is paper made to look like parchment using plant 
materials. They are very different materials. 

Parchment typically does not fold well, and can not be used for complex 
designs. Dampening it helps to make it more pliable and reduces cracking and 
breaking.
