Hello,
This list has become awfully quiet. What's going on with Orion? There
haven't been any new releases or bug fixes. Does anyone have any
information? Perhaps, someone on the Orion team can give us an update.
Personally, I'm getting a little concerned.

Hi Everybody,
Happy New Year!
I haven't received a single message since 29-Dec-2000. Has the service gone
down, nobody is working on Orion or is it just my link that's gone quiet?

The quiet list and being unable to access the main site seems strange...

I talked to Karl and he told me they had some server issues and are now on a

No need to worry :-)

Hi,
from a stored procedure i return (OUT Parameter) an Array (VARRAY) of
Integers.
How can I map an Oracle-Array to an Java.lang.Object Array?
Must I use the oracle implementation of jdbc2? (oracle.sql.*)
Thx

I can get to their web site. But the volume of traffic in the List is
amazingly low (virtually none). It also happened to me just before XMS when
the traffic dipped and after few days I was getting replies to original
messages which I had never seen before. But at least something was coming
AFAIK this has never worked at all...

Hi.
I'm trying to discover what is going on with Orionserver. There are months
that it's not updated. Anybody from the Orion team to give some news for us?

I experienced this same message when I first deployed on PostgreSQL
(7.0.3). Seems to have otherwise produced no ill effects (so far).
Is anyone here actually *enjoying* PostgreSQL? I've been developing
with Win2K and Hypersonic and just set up my production box, which is
Linux and PostgreSQL.
this is very common and you need to investigate the java servlet
api. Pay special attention to the HttpServletRequest and
HttpServletResponse classes.

The load on startup number is what ranking to startup. It basically means
that lower numbers start up first. SO... if you wanted servlets A,B,C,D to
start up in that order,
A=10, B=200, C=316, D=445
Doesn't matter what the numbers are, as long as they are in the correct
order.

Hi Huibert,
My suggestion would be to use the Java Servlet API v2.3, building on the
Clickstream demo at OrionSupport.
Basically, I think you could define a listener, filters, and filter
mappings in your web.xml file, and have the filter servlet(s) parse the
request, lookup the target site in
You can override the 404 html error, sending that to a servlet or JSP. Once
there, you can detect what 'name' is and use some logic (possibly backed by
a Database or XML) to decide where to redirect to.
Just off the top of my head...
I am assuming that myserver/name doesn't actually exist as a

The Orion gui tools seem to run ok.

I guess they also take the time to lay down the groundwork for major

Hi all,
The FreeBSD port for Orion has been committed and is available in the current
version of the source tree. Just make sure your ports tree is up to date
(execute "cvsup /etc/cvsupfile" or something) and then:

# make install

It seems you want to implement mod_rewrite, of Apache fame? This doesn't
sound too hard to me, I might take a crack at it over the weekend, it would
be useful for myself anyway.
This is the easiest way to do it (off the top of my head):

I have had a similar problem, you start everything

another?

Interesting point. I agree, and infact I found the CMP primer a bit hard to
read because it wasn't so clean (as far as the code used). However, for the
sake of brevity I am sure they had to cut corners so as not to have a
