Hi Robert, I have uploaded msvc90sp1 binaries built from the 2.8.1 tag to the ftp area. I verified the archives here and will download and verify again once you have moved them into their appropriate locations.
On another issue - I still haven't found the time to make the deb package generator work on linux.
