Islam on Menu? i want it Halal with mint sauce!

[Published: Sunday 20, May 2007 - 13:15]

A CAGED Ulster priest who committed a series of brutal sex crimes against
boys is now praying to Allah - for better GRUB!

Senior sources at Maghaberry Prison told Sunday Life that Fr Gerard
McQuillan is one of a number of notorious prisoners in the jail who are set
to declare themselves MUSLIM!

Sources claim McQuillan, who was locked up in 2005, has been telling fellow
inmates of his plans to ditch his Catholic faith.

And prisoners such as evil killer Louis 'Luger' Maguire and a number of
renegade republicans are also planning to switch faith because they believe
followers of Islam enjoy healthier meals behind bars.

It is understood jail bosses are now preparing themselves for the requests
from prisoners of Catholic and Protestant backgrounds to be classed as
Muslim.

Said the source: "McQuillan has been doing a lot of complaining over the
last few weeks about the facilities in the prison - especially the food.

"He has been telling people that, because he wants to have a healthy diet,
the only way to get the best food is by devoting himself to Islam.

"The pervert has been boasting that he is going to tell the authorities that
he is converting to Islam. There's nothing they can do about it because this
is his basic human right."

Added the source: "Some of the other prisoners have heard about his plans
and they are now saying the same thing because they want to have better
food.

"There have been some jokes made about the plans - if you asked any of the
inmates to talk about holy days in the Islamic calendar, they wouldn't have
a clue!"

A number of non-Islamic inmates in England have declared themselves as
Muslim in a bid to receive better food

The expected faith-switches at Maghaberry come after William Andrew Askin -
who was on remand in 2004 after he was accused of being involved with the
largest haul of cocaine ever seized by Ulster cops - refused prison food
over fears he would be poisoned.

Sunday Life has previously published details of the lavish meals prisoners
enjoy at Easter and Christmas.

And Prison Service caterers have won National Training Awards for coaching
would-be chefs serving jail terms.
