Radical Islamic Group Advocates Execution for Islamic Defectors
Jeremy Reynalds - 9/10/2006
A radical Islamic group which advocates execution for Islamic defectors is
still operating legally in Britain-at least for the moment. That despite a
promised ban on the group by British Prime Minister Tony Blair in Aug. 2005
after the 7/7 terrorist attacks on London. Hizb ut Tahrir, which has its
international headquarters in London, has far-reaching and radical aims.
Group members would like to reestablish Islamic rule throughout the Muslim
world, an idea inspired by the medieval Arabic caliphate, which ruled, in
part, from Saudi Arabia to southern Spain. Though Hizb ut Tahrir has come
under closer inspection by the British government, its activities have not
yet been banned. However, it appears that may be changing with new evidence
about the group coming to light.

Hizb ut Tahrir has been undertaking a massive recruitment drive in the U.K.,
regularly launching or hijacking political issues (for example the "Stop
Islamophobia" campaign at British universities), then stepping aside from
these campaigns once a sufficient recruitment pool has been created from
which it can draw recruits. Hizb ut Tahrir's recruits are generally young.

These recruits then go through a cult-like induction process whereby they
agree as the true chosen Muslims to work towards Hizb ut Tahrir's goals of
Islamic rule. Hizb ut Tahrir won't say about how many recruits it has, but
based on the attendance of some of its events, the number is 8,000-plus in
Britain alone (perhaps as many as 100,000 worldwide).

The international, anti-terrorist organization Vigil has been monitoring
Hizb ut Tahrir since 7/7.

The organization's spokesperson, Dominic Whiteman, said by e-mail, "Hizb ut
Tahrir is all about taqiyya. Taqiyya is the dispensation allowing Muslims to
conceal their faith when under threat, persecution or compulsion.
Opportunistic groups like Hizb ut Tahrir warp taqiyya to mean they can lie
to promote their version of their religion. It is based on Qur'an 3:28 and
16:106 as well as hadith, tafsir literature, and juridical commentaries. In
short Hizb ut Tahrir lies publicly, but we and other intelligence groups are
well-aware of what they are saying privately."

Whiteman added that the Hizb ut Tahrir group is all about achieving
"critical mass" in terms of numbers of recruits anywhere it is operating.

"It gets the mass of Muslims on its side and, following the strategy of
Mohammed in his seizure of Mecca, eventually overthrows states by violent
coup," Whiteman said. "This includes Britain. These people are so deluded as
to think that they actually stand a chance of establishing their
totalitarian Islamic Caliphate in Britain! What they fail to comprehend is
that we know far too much about them - through infiltration and those many
recruits who've seen through them and left - for them to stand a chance."

Whiteman said that a recently released document from Canadian subject Jamal
Harwood, Head of Hizb ut Tahrir Britain's Executive Committee, says that,
"hundreds of millions of the world's Muslims wish to be united under a
Caliphate which bears responsibility for securing peoples lives, property,
beliefs (not only Islamic) and other matters that produce stability and
harmony in society through Shariah law, content to live side by side with
people of other faiths. To color it, as the Prime Minister (Tony Blair)
frequently does, as a medieval theocracy, or an evil ideology, not only
insults one billion Muslims but belittles their aspirations for a better
life through this system."

Whiteman referred to a draft copy of the Hizb ut Tahrir draft constitution
(recently taken off the Hizb ut Tahrir website in a hurry by group members)
that he said includes intolerant, sexist and racist edicts such as, "Those
who are guilty of apostasy from Islam are to be executed according to the
rule of apostasy. The Caliph must be male; jihad is a compulsory duty of all
male Muslims, female Muslims cannot live with foreign men."

Whiteman said it is ironic, given the terrorist exhortations of Hizb ut
Tahrir's founder Omar Bakri that, "individuals are prevented from possessing
laboratories and producing materials that could harm the Ummah or the
state."

Whiteman commented, "To call this constitution medieval would be paying the
Flinstones too much of a compliment. It is the work of Islamofascists who
have no governmental future in Britain. It is written by individuals who
genuinely think that they, as the true Muslims, and that they have a divine
right to owning Britain lock, stock and barrel and imposing their
women-fearing, barbaric ideals on the rest of us, with an aim to using
Britain as a launch pad from where to carry out jihad (Islamic holy war) on
other states. These people indoctrinate recruits with conspiracy theory and
a Manichean world view - the Hizb ut Tahrir prism - through which they paint
a picture of non-believers setting out to destroy Islam."

Whiteman said that, "Like the Nazis, group members brainwash recruits into
thinking there is a line of continuity between historical and contemporary
events with no allowance for the vagaries of history or circumstance. If
their constitution doesn't convince you of their totalitarian aims and lies,
there are readily available cached pages from their website on the web which
talk of destroying all Jews - not of wanting to live alongside them."

(In late 2003 the BBC program "Newsnight" discovered that Hizb ut Tahrir's
website promoted racism and anti-Semitic hatred, calling suicide bombers
martyrs, and urging Muslims to kill Jewish people).

Whiteman said that Hizb ut Tahrir continually states that it disavows
violence; that it considers the armed struggle to be forbidden by the
Shariah, "yet its literature runs completely contrary to its public
statements, using the language of violent jihad and blatantly exposing them
as the simple frauds they are. They are in recruitment stage right now.
Their plan is to split British Muslims away from non-believers but that will
never happen."

Recent evidence from New York, Whiteman said, has linked Hizb ut Tahrir
through funding networks to actual terrorism. That link, Whiteman said,
"will likely be the last straw for British Home Secretary John Reid in
deciding to ban them. That will end the group, at least in Britain."

A ban will severely diminish the group's effectiveness, Whiteman said.

"They will be monitored and disrupted when they morph into other groups when
they are eventually banned - just like what's happening to al Ghurabaa, the
Saved Sect and other Al Mujahiroun offshoots. For those of us Brits whose
fathers and grandfathers fought on the beaches of Normandy to drive back a
fascist, totalitarian enemy, it makes us shudder that Britain has let in
even worse fascists through the back door, though admittedly these
Islamofascists are stateless, weak and at each others' throats."

Whiteman commented, "Just like our fathers and their fathers it is our duty
to see that this threat is defeated, disbanded and left to wallow in shame.
I am particularly proud to be working alongside so many true British Muslims
as we infiltrate and expose these hate-mongers - especially Hizb ut Tahrir
who think they are ever so clever. We can rid Britain of this fetid enemy
from within, who dare call themselves Muslims, when in reality they are a
tragic bunch of individuals suffering awful delusion."

According to Whiteman, the new evidence from New York - unspecified at this
time - is likely to lead to the group also being banned in Australia also.
It is already banned in several Muslim countries including Egypt, as well as
being banned in Russia, and, for anti-Semitism, in Germany.
