Custom agents.were outraged that headquarters would reveal sensitive counterterrorism procedures to [CAIR]. In addition to reassuring the CAIR officials that agents do not single out Muslim travelers for special screening, the DHS official informed them that they (the agents) must undergo a mandatory course in Muslim sensitivity training. The O'Hare course, taught by Margaret Nydell, an Arabic professor at Georgetown University, instructs "agents that Muslims believe that jihad is an 'internal struggle against sin' and not holy warfare." Georgetown's large center on Islamic studies is bankrolled by the Saudis. One supervisor of U.S. Customs and Border Protection calls Nydell's instruction "politically correct drivel. It's all about how Islam means peace and tolerance.."
