I made a lot of changes in the UI (remove / reorder drawer items and

Yes, put enduro.render.xml into /OSMand/rendering
and 3 others xml files into
/OSMand/routing
When you reload osmand the news choices are added and you can select this
for use.
The 3 routing modes are added at the end of the list of standards modes.

Where to copy the files in OsmAnd sub-directory:
1. The rendering-file ==> (probably sub-dir: rendering)
2. The routing files ==> ()
And how to select rendering and routing detail:
1. Rendering
That's more a function of your phone than OsmAnd. What kind of phone do you
have? Android has a setting (somewhere) that displays a minimal popup window
for incoming calls that doesn't take up the whole screen, and is easy to
dismiss.
