Dedicated Folders for additional map-families

For using different families of raster-maps in sqlite-format it is needed to load these maps from different selectable folders (e.g. as overlay-map). Up to now I do not see, how this is possible. Does anybody know a way of choosing different folders for loading of maps? Thanks Werner --
