Found the problem...
The map (ocbf) files were downloaded to Android's
/data/net.osmand.dev/files directory and the app is looking them up from
/storage/emulator/0/*oamand. *It works after I copied the ocbf to the
/storage/emulator/0/oamand directory.

I'm getting the same result when I try to change the position from the
context menu using v 2.8.2
- Mark a spot
- More actions/Change marker's position
- Move the map to reposition
- Apply.
The marker reverts back to the original spot.

For point 3, you should get a prompt to open any GPX file you download in
any app with OsmAnd. You can then import it, and the track will appear in
My Tracks tab in My Places.

Ignore the above, for the moment, phone "Settings" includes an option to
allow non-Playstore installations. Installed version 1.9.5 (30Mb on the
Osmand database) but it is still too big for the dim-phone. - Work in
progress! Will report eventual success/failure.
Thanks for all help thus far.
Copied a file from the database you posted, and pasted it in the downloads
folder of the mobile.
Tried to install it. Got message "*Install blocked - For security your
phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in Google
Play Store*".
Is this a dead end?
Is there another
Hi, I have the same problem. In the beginning of October I installed the
application on my Android Car Stereo (Android 6.0.1). It was working fine
and then I updated the application and I got the problem hat you are
described. The Triangle is flickering and the Speed Icon on the right
corner
Hi! Thank you for feedback.
You try to add marker on the map, and then change it position from context
menu?
