As a"tech challenged" individual I thank you for your reply! So just because
the screen is off the GPS is still at work and the app needs to be closed for
the GPS to be off.

Yes of course. It has to process the GPS signal and update its position.
But, on any smartphone the screen consumes much more battery.

2019-07-13 Thread Tom Norton
We are currently cycling across Europe. I use Osmand at different times during
the day while my wife has a Garmin on her bike.
If I leave Osmand loaded and turn the screen off,not turning off the phone,
will it still drain the battery?
Thanks!

Re: can not load gpx file in OSmand made on PC (windows) and sent by email to android phone

2019-07-13 Thread Peer
In my case the problem is in the transfer of the file, not in the gpx-files
and not in OsmAnd.
I used the primitive stfp server, an app Xavier mentioned shortly ago. But
I made a mistake in the settings After correcting the file transfers were
ok.

Re: can not load gpx file in OSmand made on PC (windows) and sent by email to android phone

2019-07-13 Thread Peer
I tried to create a gpx-file on fietsersbond.nl, saved it and copied it to
the tracks folder. But it did not show on the map. So that is the same as
your experience.

I created a new route on myrouteapp.com, saved it and it also did not show
on the map.

gpx-files that I created earlier on myrouteapp.com do show on the map.

So there is definitely something wrong.

windows 10 pc. what is happening?

is standard gpx file made with Fietsplanner from Fietserbond.nl.

can any one help, would be appreciated.
