and give route distance and timing. My wrong interpretation was that I
needed somehow to "press enter" for it to draw the route.

I can choose whatever marker I have made as start and endpoint and within
seconds this route is calculated and shown on the map. clicking "start"
does not change that. I don't know why that does not seem to work with the
osmands (3.4.8) of roberto and bart. we need this to make plans, of
Pressing "start" begins navigation from your current location; it's a
feature, not a bug. (You can't navigate from where you aren't.) What are
you trying to do?

When I set up a new route to navigate, between 2 predefined markers, then
click Start, OsmAnd makes a route between My Current Location and the
destination marker, instead of joining start marker to destination marker
with a route.
I have checked everything and cannot find the way to fix
