This project involves refactoring the database. Tasks will range from standardizing naming conventions used for tables and fields to restructuring T-SQL code to optimize performance, create a more modular architecture, and add new functionality. - Writing clean, well-documented code is essential, because the product (an open source software platform) is the code itself. - The candidate will be working with another database programmer, DBAs, and a .NET web development team. - A computer science or math background would be helpful since this is not a typical transactional system--the T-SQL encodes various natural language processing, artificial intelligence, and simulation algorithms. *NOTE:** They do not need a database administrator (DBA).
