(Call me at 732 333 3219) dir Must be Green Card Holders / US citizens / EAD or OPT's Immediate Interview Position: Technical Writers w/ HARDWARE or Software Location: Cupertino, CA Duration: 3-6 months Rate: $32/hr on C2C and 27/hr on W2 all inclusive We are looking for talented Technical Writers who are savvy on writing on the HARDWARE side..Software side folks are okay, but they have to have retail and/or POS (Point of Sale) experience with hardware too. If so.you have seen the workers there using hand held ipod-like hardware with a scanner attached, to scan your credit/debit cards. This tech writer will be responsible for updating the manuals associated with new hardware roll outs, so experience with retail/POS is a must. Other retail companies use these hand-helds too..like, Best Buy, Home Depot, CVS/Longs, Jamba Juice, Gap, Old Navy, ect.. The only other must besides retail/POS exposure or experience writing about these devices, is Apple OS systems knowledge or experience..preferably someone who knows OS X (tiger, leopard or snow leopard versions are all ok) Major Responsibilities: · Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation that adheres to an approved standard. Documentation should be consistent with respect to terminology and style. Documentation should be clear, concise, organized, and should include the appropriate supporting pictures, charts, and/or diagrams. Documentation must include version numbers and notes. The required documentation includes the following: v Process documentation (hardware and software implementation) v Project documentation templates (schedules, project plans, deployment schedules) v Application support documentation (SDLC, troubleshooting, user guides, version notes) v Use cases for application integration testing · Edit existing documentation to meet the standards as noted above. · Collaborate with project managers, developers, and application support specialist to gain an understanding of the application. Determine the types of documentation required for the application. · Research, evaluate, and recommend ways to improve the current documentation standards, tools, and processes. Minimum Qualifications: a.. Experience with POS and/or retail store systems is required. b.. Experience with OS X based documentation creation and publishing tools is required. c.. Strong understanding of network architecture and software development life cycles is required. d.. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. e.. Excellent grammar and editing skills. f.. Very detail oriented and organized with a strong discipline of adhering to standards. g.. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision while maintaining a high level of efficiency. h.. Ability to work in a dynamic environment. Must be flexible and quick to adapt to sudden changes and issues.
