The environment, standards, policies, and design for managing Unix and Linux do not exist. We do however have a large number Unix and Linux based applications. The management of the user accounts and credentials is a very manual process and has weak auditing and reporting capabilities. This project will create requirements, standards, and design for using Active Directory as a central user repository for storing and managing Unix/Linux user credentials, improve management of disparate user accounts, provide better provisioning integration, and reduce audit issues.
