I'm sorry that this isn't more transparent. There are 2 main sources of documentation, OWFS (this project) and Dallas/Maxim. OWFS: There are man pages for each device explaining (to some extent) all the device properties (file entries). It's found in the downloaded code, and also on the web site.

I am a little confused about how and why items appear in the chip directories. As a for instance in the DS18S20 directory (10.) where does trim and trim blanket come from? I do not see anything in the Maxim docs about that. Now should they be set? What is the method for calibrating temperatu
